Hosting

UNIT10 hosts and manages the infrastructure behind everything we build, so performance, uptime and security stay someone's job — not nobody's.

Hosting is infrastructure, not an afterthought

Cheap, unmanaged hosting is a common false economy: it's fine until the site goes down outside office hours, a plugin update breaks something, or a security vulnerability sits unpatched because nobody's actually watching for it. UNIT10 hosts sites on modern, performance-optimised infrastructure appropriate to what's actually running — a static-generated brochure site has very different hosting needs to a database-backed customer portal.

What managed actually means

Managed hosting from UNIT10 means backups run automatically and are actually verified, SSL certificates renew without anyone needing to remember, uptime is monitored with alerting so we know before your customers do, and security patches are applied on a sensible schedule rather than accumulating as risk. If something does go wrong, there's a direct point of contact who already knows how the site is built — not a generic support ticket queue.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to host with UNIT10, or can I use my own hosting?

You're not locked in — we can deploy to hosting infrastructure you already have or prefer, and hand over full access. We recommend our managed hosting because it's specifically configured for what we build and actively monitored, but the choice is yours.

What happens if the site goes down?

Managed hosting includes uptime monitoring and alerting, so issues are typically caught and addressed proactively rather than waiting for you to notice and report it.

Is hosting billed separately from maintenance?

Hosting and maintenance are often bundled into a single Website Care Plan for simplicity — see Website Care Plans — but can be structured separately depending on what you need.
